Joe first used our products after winning them as a prize in a fish of the month competition we sponsored. We reached out to Joe to ask what kind of fishing he did in order to send products that were suited to his style of fishing. Joe targeted carp and catfish so after a bit of a chat we sent out a Chinese River Shrimp bundle as his prize. By chance we had been test rolling a few different fluoro colours in 22mm and had just rolled a batch of fluoro purple, ideal for catfish, so we sent some up for Joe to try and the rest, as they say, is history! On a lake which can prove tricky, Joe banked countless specimen carp and catfish on the 22mm purple fluoros and he has quite literally sworn by them ever since – as do many others anglers fishing for catfish who saw how he got on that trip as well!
Joe lives on the Isle of Lewis in The Outer Hebrides and as such, his fishing time on the UK mainland is restricted to a small number of longer sessions each year – and that’s it! In such circumstances quality bait is obviously a critical part of his armoury in order to maximise every opportunity when he does get the chance to fish and so we are super proud that he’s championed our Chinese River Shrimp ever since he first used it. His help and input has proved invaluable as we continue to develop our catfish range of baits in 2026…
